🚀 Getting started

What is Songfindr, and how does it work?

Songfindr is where creators license original, copyright-cleared music for their projects - videos, podcasts, films, games and ads. Every track comes from a real artist, with the rights cleared, so you can use it without copyright worries. How it works Find a track, try it free, then license it: 1. Search for, or describe, the sound you need, and preview any track. 2. Download a free watermarked version to test it in your edit. 3. When it fits, license the track and download the clean files to use commercially. Ways to pay You can license a track as a one-time purchase, on a subscription, or from a prepaid balance - whichever suits how often you license. Using Music Match (describe it, reference it, or upload a file)

Music Match is Songfindr's smart search for when you know the sound you want but not the words for it. Three ways to use it - Describe it - type the vibe or the scene in plain language. - Reference a track - point to a song whose style you want to match. - Upload a file - drop in an audio file (mp3, wav and similar, under 80 MB) and get tracks that match its feel. When to reach for it Use Music Match when keyword search is not landing, or when a client sends you a "make it sound like this" reference and you need close matches fast. ⬇️ After you license

What am I allowed to do with a licensed track?

Each license grants a specific usage scope - where and how you are allowed to use the track. Your scope depends on the tier The tier you buy sets what is covered, for example the type of project and how widely it is distributed. You accept the license agreement when you buy, and the exact scope is shown at purchase and written in your license document, so you can always check what you are cleared to do. If your use grows Tracks are cleared for the uses your license covers, so you can publish with confidence. If your use grows beyond your tier - a wider campaign, broadcast, or exclusivity - move up a tier or request a custom quote. Related - How do I get an invoice or receipt? - Can I get a refund?

You can also browse by artist, song, release, or playlist, and check Trending Searches for a starting point. Match the sound with Music Match When words are hard, use Music Match: describe the sound, point to a reference track, or upload an audio file to find tracks in the same style. See Using Music Match.
